Some of Nollywood big names such as Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola
Jalade-Ekeinde, Funke Akindele and President of the Actors Guild of
Nigeria, AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima were conspicuously missing at the
festival.
Funke Akindele
But in
their absence, the up and coming actresses such as Linda Ejiofor who
had her break in Rita Dominic’s “The Meeting”, Uru Eke, Lilian Esoro, OC
Ukeje, Bhaira Mcwizu, Mary Uranta, Moses Inwang, Ihuoma Nwigwe, KC
Ejelonu and many others who know how to turn on the charm in front of
cameras took the center stage.
Their graceful presence were felt
at every nook and cranny of the festival. But it was fun all the way for
the emerging stars. Hollywood representatives, Lynn Whitefield who was
one of the festival ambassadors, Vanessa Williams, Nigerian born Ngoli
Okafor all had fun, and agreed that the art of film making had come to
stay in Africa.
